Rapper/Actor “DMX” 1.6 Million Dollar Maryland Judgment Overturned by Judge

Baltimore, Maryland – A Prince George County Judge, Thomas P. Smith, has overturned a $1,518, 400.00 defamation judgment entered against Earl Simmons (DMX).

In January 2008, plaintiff Monique Wayne obtained a judgment against Simmons claiming that she was defamed by comments allegedly made by Simmons in Sister to Sister magazine. After the judgment was issued, DMX turned to renowned attorney William H. “Billy” Murphy and the Murphy Firm based in Baltimore, Maryland.

“Today a very large judgment was vacated by Judge Smith, the judge clearly agreed with us that Mr. Simmons was never properly notified and therefore he threw out the judgment” said Hassan Murphy, Managing Partner of The Murphy Firm.

Earl “DMX” Simmons gained notoriety as a multi-platinum selling artist and starred in such films as Belly, Romeo Must Die, and Exit Wounds, to name a few.
