Heavyweight champion Mike Tyson sued legendary boxing promoter Don King and his company, Don King Productions, in federal district court for $100 million, accusing King of fraud and conversion (theft.) Tyson also accused King of concealing revenue from the sale of the non-U.S. broadcast rights of Tyson fights. King and his company hired Murphy, Falcon & Murphy to defend them against these allegations.

Murphy, Falcon & Murphy was hired to protect the reputation and credibility of the leading African American-owned sports business, and to prevent Tyson from obtaining money to which he was not entitled.

After years of protracted litigation, King and Tyson entered into a confidential settlement agreement for an insignificant sum of money.
